Cookie Palooza

Lory and I have a Christmas tradition:
COOKIE DAY!!!!
It started more years ago than I can remember.
I'm not sure how many kinds of cookies it started out at
but I do know we have determined 9 is too many.
We set a day aside and just bake like maniacs.

Lory brings all  her cookie sheets, cooling racks
and storage containers.
I choose the cookies we will make, shop, prepare any dough's
ahead of time that need to be refrigerated and generally organize.
Lory lets me.
I like it that way :o)
I'm an organizational freak.

I make notes on each years list of cookies.
Who likes which ones best.
Ones we shouldn't bother with again.
Or, why we won't be able to find the spritzer machine
the following year.
After three years of being sure it was "user error" and
that surely we could make that goofy thing work, we
decided it was the machine, not us.
It's in a landfill.
Where it belongs.
It will mock us no longer.

Lory and I are a great pair in the kitchen.
Like I said, she lets me be boss.
She's happy to be grunt labor.
Neither of us gets too worked up about "instructions".
"Lightly dust" is relative.

Oh, yeah, another thing Lory brings....
the WINE!

Yep, as the day goes on those pesky "instructions" become
mere suggestions.
And Lory gets shorter :o)

  1. Yeah Cookie Day!!!!! And Yeah Cookies!!!! Weight watchers be damned! No problems being bossed around - I get wine and I get cookies and I get to spend a day with and being Merry! Is there a downside (other than the 5 extra pounds I will weigh on the 12th)?
